Okay, quite a few changes between the last two. For one things, TWO more wave of GL figures came out from DC Direct. The mini-lanterns also hit, and good lord, that's a movie lantern replica, also from DC Direct.
It was both a good year and a bad year to be a Green Lantern fan. On the one hand, LOTS of merchandise came out, on the other, a solidly mediocre film was released. Wanted a home run, and they gave us a bunt. Bugger.
One thing I'm liking is the level of detail in the newer figures. The difference in quality between the Guy Gardner from wave 2 and the one from wave 5 is very noticeable, with the newer figure leaving his predecessor in the dust. You can picture this version of Guy moving around and talking, as opposed to his chunkier, clunkier counterpart.
I know I said I was going to build another case, and I indeed had started to, but when I realized that it would take at LEAST two more cases to fit all of my collection, it became apparent that my shop would cease to be a frame shop, and would instead become a Green Lantern museum. Not that that's a bad thing, necessarily, but the revenue stream might not be quite what I require.
Anyhow, this is the LAST case of obsession for 2011, and here's hoping that 2012 will not be quite as expensive as the previous year.
